Quick start
- During setup, choose a Health, Habits, or Pets TrackPack for an editable starter folder, or choose Build My Own.
- Add trackers from Track. Add or edit folders from Folders on iPad, or Settings on iPhone.
- Tap a tracker row to log an event instantly.
- Swipe left on a tracker for its report or swipe right to edit it. Use the report icon at the top for the currently selected folder scope.
Sorting trackers
Use the sort button beside the folder filter in Track. All Folders has its own order, and every folder can use a different order: A–Z, Z–A, newest activity first, oldest activity first, or Custom.
Choose Custom to drag trackers into your own order. Changing one folder's order does not replace the All Folders order or another folder's choice. Apple Watch has a separate Tracker Order setting on iPhone.
TrackPacks
TrackPacks create ordinary folders and trackers you can rename, recolor, move, edit, or delete. Health, Habits, and Pets packs are available during first-run setup and every later Add Folder flow.
You can reuse a pack when its final folder name is unique. If the default name already exists, Trackalot suggests an available numbered name; customize it before choosing Create.
Count Warnings and notes
Edit a tracker to turn on Count Warnings, choose a maximum, and select custom rolling hours, rolling 24 hours, or a calendar day, week, or month. Warnings appear at 75%, 85%, 90%, 95%, the maximum, and every tap beyond it. A warning never blocks or removes the log.
Turn on Always open notes on tap when you usually add context to an in-app entry. Tapping that tracker opens the optional note form with the cursor and keyboard ready, and you can still save with no note. Widget, Watch, and Shortcuts taps remain one-tap logs.
Velocity Check and undo
Velocity Check is on by default and prevents repeated taps on the same tracker within five seconds. Each tracker has its own cooldown, so logging one tracker does not block another. Change the system-wide interval from 1–60 seconds or turn the feature off in Settings below Feedback.
The same protection applies to taps from iPhone, Home Screen widgets, and Apple Watch. To fix the latest accepted tap, shake your iPhone anywhere in Trackalot, review the tracker and timestamp in the confirmation, then choose Undo.
All-tracker and folder reports
The report icon in the Track view follows the folder filter you are viewing. Choose All Folders for a chronological report across every tracker, or choose a folder first to report only on trackers in that folder.
Use the date-range control to switch among the rolling previous 24 hours (1D), 7 days, 30 days, 90 days, and one year. The export icon creates CSV or PDF output from the same scope and date range shown on screen.
Individual tracker reports
An individual report uses the title Folder / Tracker and includes charts, totals, streaks, and editable history. Use the pencil icon to edit the tracker and the export icon to create a PDF, print, or send entries to Calendar.
Deleting a tracker is available at the bottom of its edit screen so it is kept separate from everyday reporting actions.
Home Screen widgets
Trackalot includes widgets for frequent one-tap logging. The widget picker identifies each choice as Folder / Tracker, and the small and medium widgets show the selected tracker's folder name. Trackers without a folder appear as Uncategorized.
Widget taps use Velocity Check and briefly show Too fast when a repeated tap is blocked. If a widget does not show recent trackers, open Trackalot once, confirm the tracker still exists, then edit the widget and choose the tracker again.
Apple Watch setup
- Install the Trackalot companion app on your Apple Watch from the Watch app on iPhone if it was not installed automatically.
- Create or update your folders and trackers in Trackalot on iPhone, then open the iPhone app once to sync the tracker list.
- Open Trackalot on Apple Watch. Trackers are grouped under folder headings; tap one to log it.
- To add the complication, touch and hold a compatible watch face, choose Edit, select a complication position, and choose Trackalot.
A Watch log that cannot reach the iPhone right away is kept pending and retried. Velocity Check and Count Warnings also apply on Watch. Choose the Watch tracker order in iPhone Settings. To simplify the wrist list, edit a tracker on iPhone and turn off Show on Apple Watch; the tracker remains available everywhere else.
The complication opens the Trackalot companion app for quick access to your tracker list.
Export, automatic backup, and restore
Report exports reflect the report and date range you are viewing. For a complete portable copy, use Settings to export CSV or JSON.
Automatic backups target a four-hour schedule, use iCloud when available, and fall back to local storage. Trackalot retains the newest 100 accessible backups. You can also run a backup manually, browse dated backups, and restore one from Settings.
On an empty reinstall, Trackalot can offer to restore the newest valid backup it finds before new automatic backups begin. Because iOS schedules background work opportunistically, an overdue automatic backup runs at the next available foreground or background opportunity.
Troubleshooting
- If a tracker is missing, check the selected folder filter on the Track tab.
- If tracker positions changed unexpectedly, check whether the selected scope is using an alphabetical or recency sort instead of Custom.
- If Add Folder rejects a name, another folder has the same canonical name; use the suggested number or enter another unique name.
- If a Count Warning seems wrong, confirm its maximum and period in Edit Tracker. Calendar periods follow the device calendar and time zone.
- If a report is missing a tracker, return to the Track view and confirm whether All Folders or a specific folder is selected.
- If a widget is stale, remove it from the Home Screen and add it again.
- If a legitimate repeat tap is being blocked, adjust the Velocity Check interval under Settings or temporarily turn it off.
- If Apple Watch does not show recent trackers, open Trackalot on iPhone and then reopen the Watch app while the devices are connected.
- If one Watch tracker is missing, edit it on iPhone and confirm Show on Apple Watch is enabled.
- If a Watch log is pending, keep the devices connected and open Trackalot on iPhone so delivery can complete.
- If an expected backup is missing, choose Refresh Backup List and allow time for iCloud to make the file available.
Privacy
Trackalot stores user-created folders, trackers, sorting and warning settings, notes, and event entries using storage controlled through your Apple devices and iCloud. The app does not require an account, and the developer does not receive your tracking data. Automatic backups may be written to your iCloud container or local app storage; exports are created only when you request them.
